[Isis-users] ABCD problem

Hello,

the ABCD Loans system accepts, in its 'open' and flexibility philosophy, any database as a catalog, and any users-database for the users, but they need to be configured in the 'Configuration' option of the Loans menu (last part).
The situation is as follows :
- you have to create your catalog, but link it to the copies-database (option in the main menu under 'Utilities') and create the copies and loanobjects also for each title. In the loanobjects-database the Control Numbers of the catalog-records are available together with the name of the catalog database name, so creating unique identifiers;
- when you identify a book for loaning, e.g. by scanning its barcode or by selecting it from the barcodes list from the Loanobjects database, ABCD will know automatically from which catalog to take it (for display of title e.g.).

In the Loans configuration you have to add your own catalog as a 'Source database' (first option in configuration) and put some (simple) PFT's to tell ABCD how to extract and display loan-objects. Best is to copy these from MARC and only change the field-numbers for the title-field in the first 2 boxes (v245 is title field in MARC).

I suggest you continue using the ISIS-discussion list after registration, see : http://lists.iccisis.org/listinfo/isis-users, for further help and support. It is also good to know for other ABCD-users worldwide that there are colleagues in India.

Dear madam,

Greeting from INCLEN executive office,New Delhi

As per our telephonic conversation today at 2.30 PM regarding
Circulation problem with ABCD Software.

I have created my database name" Sadhana Catalouge" (where fields are
accno,Title,Author,Callno,Editor etc,place, publisher, year,vol).I am
able to create webopac also .but i am facing
problem in loan module.

In loan module i created borrowers database but when i go for loan, it
asked for borrowers data and accno . I can able to give borrowers
record ID but there is no option for selecting database (i.e.Sadhana
Catalouge) and when i click on list , By default it takes CEPAL
database.

Please suggest how can i select my database for issue and return process.

Your early response is highly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Sadhana Jain
