Peter,

if you can use 'mx' at the command-line, all manual you need is this :
- export the Excel-sheet to a csv-file, using one of the options to change the separator into '|' (the pipe)
- mx can read such a file directly with the command 'mx seq=mycsvfile.csv' create=mydatabase now -all'

If it is difficult to have the '|' as separator, the input-parameter seq= of mx can also read another one added behind the input-filename, e.g. for semi-colon :
mx seq=mycsvfile.csv; create=mydatabase now -all

Without mx things get much trickier indeed and a manual will be necessary.

Subject: [Isis-users] manual Excel to ABCD

Dear all,

A question on behalf of a group of 16 libraries on the Dutch Antilles:
I know that conversion from an Excel sheet to ABCD has been done by many librarians. Someone must have made a step-by-step tutorial for this. Could anyone share a tutorial (preferably in English or Dutch)?

Thank you,
