Dear Renate,

Did you use the DB definition and update menu in ABCD to change your FDT.
You should declare the field's subfields and define each subfield as required by ABCD.

As the user db does't appear in the list of db on abcd home page, you should first create a dbn.par for it. Except, if you can edit the fdt directly with a text editor (not recommended).

Hi,

I wanted to change the user database used for the circulation module. I changed the user name field into 3 subfields - abc. However when I change records or enter new records with the subfields, it does not save it with the ^a. It saves it e.g. as follows:
 GuilárteO Angela Margarita

Why can't I change the FDT of the database?  Any reason for this?
