There are a few traps in using the *.bat files in 4) below. Be sure to read translate_note.txt which is in the ..\translate folder.

Dear Mabel

I am sending you the instructions in English on behalf of many of our colleagues that cannot read Spanish

How to prepare iAH translations

iAH interface v.3.x comes in four languages: en, en, pt, fr

Enabled languages are recorded in the file: C:\ABCD\www\htdocs\iah\scripts\iah.def.php
in the line: AVAILABLE LANGUAGES=pt, es, en, fr

The order of the language statement is the order they appear in the interface as enabled
and the order (1, 2, 3 ... ) should be indicated as the subfields: ^1 ^2 ...
in the file <BASE>.def found in the directory indicated in the line
PATH_DEF=/ABCD/www/bases/par/    (example for ABCD)

iAH has a set of 31 structural files for each language with extensions.pft y .htm located in C:\ABCD\www\htdocs\iah\scripts\<lang>

If you want to add a new language, such as Catalan (indicated by the ISO code CA), you should follow the following steps

1) Make a new folder for the new language: C:\ABCD\www\htdocs\iah\scripts\ca

2) Go to the directory C:\ABCD\www\htdocs\iah\scripts\translate
there you should create a file ca.txt containing the seed texts used to generate the needed new 31 files
For that, copy one of the existent files as a modle, for example es.txt
     copy es.txt ca.txt

3) Edit ca.txt with a common editor likle notepad

This new file has a total of 89 lines, where to the left side of the = sign is the term encoded in English and at the right of = sign has the word or phrase translated into another language. Preserve the terms on the left side, do the translation for the new language on the right side and save the file when you finished

4) En el directorio ..\translate existen varios archivos .bat del tipo translate2<lang>.bat
copie uno de ellos con el nombre correspondiente al nuevo idioma,
   por ejemplo copy translate2es.bat translate2ca.bat

4) In the directory .. \ translate there are a number of .bat files like Translate2<lang>.bat.
    one for each language
again, copy one of them, example translate2es.bat with a new name
   copy translate2es.bat translate2ca.bat

5) Edit this file translate2ca.bat
and customize the script according to new new language, in this case all references to es should change to ca

  ejemplo:
  mx2 seq=ca.txt= "proc='d*a1~{{'v1'}}~a2~'v2'~'" -all now create=to_ca
  ...
  for %%i in (*.pft) do mx2 seq=%%i gizmo=to_ca lw=9000 pft=v1# now > c:\ABCD\www\htdocs\iah\scripts\ca\%%i
  ...
  etc
save the file

6) Now you have all in place to run the translation process, run translate2ca.bat
when finished you'll find the new 31 strctural files of IAH created in corresponding
   C:\ABCD\www\htdocs\iah\scripts\ca

If you find later, anytime, mistakes or typos, edit the ca.txt file and run again traslate2ca.bat and you will fix the installation
