Dear Constantin

We are working on an upcoming release of ABCD, which is v.1.2,
we are delayed, yes but not so much, I'd say much less than Microsoft's
Windows :-)

ABCD v.1.2 will inlcude:
Complete package for Windows with Apache 2.4, PHP 5.3.15 and Yaz
included runing localhost:9090
(Tested in Windowx XP, Win 7/32 and 64 bit)
The same package for Linux, with a demo in Ubuntu (version to be determined)

The package includes
- Update of PHP scripts for v.5.3.15 or higher
- Update the ABCD Site OPAC to be compatible with version 5.3.1 of
Bireme BVS
- Completed icons
- revised and upadated the messages is in, Pt, and hopefully FR
- a new utility for messages checking and translating
- MARC21 simplified version in four languages
- Bug correction in the editing module and new functions for fields and
subfields
- Correction of bugs in the loan module
- completed functions (shortcuts) of "How to cite this record" and
export to other applications
- Instructions for migrating current ABCD installations to the new version

other task underway and is expected to be on time
- Correction of bugs in the module aministración
- Reserves in the loans module
- Renewals and reservations online
- Instructions for compiling yaz.dll in case there is conflicts with
your Apache or IIS installation for compatibility issues

Moreover we are working in other areas that may not be ready in the near
future, so it will be left for the next few months

Comment on Warning This is an unfinished demo vers... etc
------------------------
There is nothing dangerous in ABCD
What we want to notice is that if you install two versions of Apache on
your server or PC may be you got in trouble because of conflicts with
communication ports, and you can not have two simultaneous versions of PHP.
Moreover yaz.dll normally is not included in PHP, and it may be that the
distribution yaz.dll of ABCD was compiled with other MSVC+ version than
that of the Apache you have installed. Such situations should be solved
by technical staff (vhosts, assigning special ports, etc..)

Regards
Ernesto Spinak
