Hello,

could you be a bit more specific about the problems of configuration you experience with ABCD ? I'm sure they can be solved as many have succeeded to install ABCD without problems.
By the way, an 'installer' for ABCD (for both Windows and Linux) is on its way which we hope to include with the new version 2.0. The configuration files of the different ABCD-modules will be constructed using interactive dialog-boxes.
But with a simple text-editor and some knowledge about the configuration files it can also work.

Subject: [Isis-users] Web-based integrated library management softwares

Dear all,

We have been using WINISIS for many years. Given its limited functions in terms of library management, we opted for PMB. Although, it enabled us in posting our bibliographic data base on our web site , unfortunately, it did meet our expectations as we did not succeed in exporting all our data, mainly periodical articles, in the bibliographic data base we set up with it. Besides, PMB does not have the powerful search language of WINISIS and the possibility of generating documentary products in a variety of forms. Because of this, we have been still using WINISIS. Our data base in WINISIS contains bibliographic information on books, reports, conference papers, theses/dissertations, periodical articles.

We know that a number of applications are available in the ISIS family. Following the exchanges of messages within the ISIS users listserv, the ABCD software looks interesting. Our computer specialist downloaded and installed it, but we cannot use it yet because of some configuration required at the administrator level.

We would be very grateful for your advice either in using ABCD or in suggesting other web-based integrated library management softwares.

Best regards,
