If you can't ping your server from PCs on the network it doesn't sound as though it's doing much serving!  Have you been providing any services from it already?  What are you trying to ping - is it the numeric IP address?  That would rule out DNS problems.

Colleagues,

successfully installed and configured 1.3 ona win2012 server. 
my server can ping an IP on the network, but no single PC can do the reverse. Or cannot access my abcd on the network apart from the server itself.

am convinced its something to do with windows firewalls or could it be my apache config?

Is there anyone running abcd on win2012?
