tengo sigue teniendo problemas.saludos

Disculpan,

problemas.saludos

Sorry, I mailed my question to the wrong address. Here is the right one to
submit my question

Collegues,

We are using MARC for bibliographic description. MARC uses tags and
indicators. When I search records using the A-Z button for alphabetic
listing I get the list of titles but with the MARC indicators before the
title. Meaning that I don?t get the alphabetic list, since all titles start
with the indicator numbers like 00, 14, 01. etc.
My question is what went wrong and how can I correct this?
Thanks in advance,

Winnie Stegeman-Tanasale

Dear Winnie

The problem is in your FDT definition and the way you link the the A-Z
button to the line of title

go to the FDT edition the line corresponding to field v245 and edit this
line
you should have

  * in  column  I   (letter i)             checked
  * in the cell: "List as" v245^a," "v245^b,`(` f(mfn,1,0),`)` (note
    the reverse quotes)
  * and the next cell "extract as" f(mfn,1,0)

?es as? o estoy
confundiendo?

Please someone clarify: I have so far understood that Win 64 bits runs 32
bit programs without problems, but that 32 bit programs do not fully use
the resources of dual or quad core processors, and that is the reason why
64 bit versions of programs are made. Am I right, or did I get this wrong?

Thanks.

Wenke

You are right, but you are not :-)

We have CISIS for Linux compiled for 32 and 64 bits even other advanced
version we'll implement for ABCD v.2.0
but for the time being there is not available a 64 bits version for
Windows, we have right now 32 bits compilation for Windows

Sorry, I mailed my question to the wrong address. Here is the right one to
submit my question

Collegues,

We are using MARC for bibliographic description. MARC uses tags and
indicators. When I search records using the A-Z button for alphabetic
listing I get the list of titles but with the MARC indicators before the
title. Meaning that I don?t get the alphabetic list, since all titles start
with the indicator numbers like 00, 14, 01. etc.
My question is what went wrong and how can I correct this?
Thanks in advance,

Dear Winnie

The problem is in your FDT definition and the way you link the the A-Z
button to the line of title

go to the FDT edition the line corresponding to field v245 and edit this
line
you should have

? * in? column? I?? (letter i)???????????? checked
? * in the cell: "List as" v245^a," "v245^b,`(` f(mfn,1,0),`)`?? (note
??? the reverse quotes)
? * and the next cell "extract as"??? f(mfn,1,0)

Estimado Sergio

?es as? o estoy
confundiendo?

As for the assumption only 64-bits software can make optimal use of today's
hardware : there is a huge debate going on with computer science experts on
this subject, and the conclusion until now comes down to the observation
that the only real difference (and advantage) of 64-bits software is the
capability to address more memory (larger files etc.), i.e. above 4 Gb. This
is rarely the case unless in very high-brow applications. To the contrary,
using 64-bits causes larger (in fact : double) chunks of data to be moved in
and out of memory all the time, so it is not even sure it means any gains in
speed etc.
Otherwise also 32-bits applications fully can use the capacity of dual-core
(and quad-core) processors, multi-threaded applications etc.

Generally speaking 64-bits has been accepted much more in Linux and OSX
environments than in Windows.

Buenas tardes,

fullinv/ansi=tubase now -all tell=100).

Dear colleagues,

at the ABCD-download page 'http://abcd.netcat.be/files' a new link is added
which immediately allows downloading a Word-formatted version of the draft
manual chapter on ABCD installation. The current draft chapter contains 19
pages, hopefully dealing with all important installation issues but of
course generalising up to a certain degree since not all possible
environments and installation problems can be anticipated.

As agreed you can use this draft document, and if comments, improvements or
corrections have been clearly - electronically - marked into the document
and sent back to me and the list, I will consider them for
inclusion/application of them into the manual. This way we can make the
manual also a collaborative effort of the ABCD-community.
