As for the assumption only 64-bits software can make optimal use of today's hardware : there is a huge debate going on with computer science experts on this subject, and the conclusion until now comes down to the observation that the only real difference (and advantage) of 64-bits software is the capability to address more memory (larger files etc.), i.e. above 4 Gb. This is rarely the case unless in very high-brow applications. To the contrary, using 64-bits causes larger (in fact : double) chunks of data to be moved in and out of memory all the time, so it is not even sure it means any gains in speed etc.
Otherwise also 32-bits applications fully can use the capacity of dual-core (and quad-core) processors, multi-threaded applications etc.

Generally speaking 64-bits has been accepted much more in Linux and OSX environments than in Windows.

You are right, but you are not :-)

We have CISIS for Linux compiled for 32 and 64 bits even other advanced version we'll implement for ABCD v.2.0
but for the time being there is not available a 64 bits version for Windows, we have right now 32 bits compilation for Windows

Para Windows no hay diferencia entre 32 y 64bits (Windows 64bits corre ejecutables de 32 bits sin problemas).
Para Linux tenemos versiones diferentes.

Consulta estimados colegas
Cargué ABCD en un computador que estoy emulando como un servidos tiene Windows XP, el disco esta particionado en C y F, con una memoria RAM de 1 GB, las estaciones que se conectan al servidor son 3 computadores de 64 bits con Windows 7, pero se presenta el siguiente problema los computadores cuando acceden a las bases de datos en forma simultánea se quedan pegados y no es posible ejecutar la acción de grabas o escribir, anteriormente tenía alojada ABCD en otro computador con características inferiores con una RAM de 500 MG.
Consulta, que puede estar pasando con el equipo que estoy emulando como servidor
Otra consulta la nueva versión de ABCD esta para ser instalada en Pc de 64 bits
