Dear ISIS Users,

I just wish to inform you that:

1) A new release of J-ISIS is available for downloading:

https://kenai.com/projects/j-isis/downloads/download/jisis_suite%2025%20October%202013.zip

This new release fix the jfxrt.jar problem for JDK >= 1.7.0_40 and a bug
that occurs when exporting a database with a reformatting FST (Thanks to
Rafael Antonio and Joel Sousa for reporting this error)

2) The document " Playing with new Web technologies in J-I SIS" was
slightly changed. The Google Map example displays now a Map of Paris with
UNESCO location.

3) *Coming soon, for next release*:

a ) Extension of Lucene J-ISIS indices so that you can optionally embed
records in json format in the index and create a catchall FST field (These
improvements will be useful when publishing databases on the Web).
b) Normalization of the indexed term and storage of the raw term
(non-normalized text) in the Lucene index itself. The Normalizer decomposes
the original UNICODE characters into a combination of a base character and
a diacritic sign (this could be multiple signs in different languages). á,
é and í have the same sign: 0301 for marking the ' accent. Then the
diacritic signs are removed before creating the indexed term.
c) Data Entry improvements

d) Publishing a set of articles explaining: i) How to install Solr Search
Server and test the installation; ii) How to move J-ISIS indices into Solr
and customizing Solr for J-ISIS indices, testing Solr with J-ISIS indices;
iii) Checking J-ISIS indices with Luke; iv) Customizing a JavaScript client
template for searching J-ISIS indices with Solr, including faceting,
paging, tagcloud, autocomplete, map, etc.

As usual, your comments, suggestions and bug reports are welcome.

With my best wishes,
Jean-Claude
