Web-JISIS 3 March
2014<https://kenai.com/projects/j-isis/downloads/download/Web-JISIS3.war>
*A) J-ISIS - The most significant new developments are the following:*
*Core Changes*
· Better reporting of J-ISIS database server errors in the Output
Console on the client side
· Complete encapsulation of the NoSQL key/value database used.
Oracle Berkeley Database (Open Source) is used but in case the licensing
scheme changes it will facilitate the change to another NoSQL key/value
database such as MongoDB. A new layer called JisisDatabase has been added
to isolate the dependencies.
*GUI Application improvements and bug fixes*
· The Advanced Data Entry window is not opened in case there are no
worksheets defined
· Export Wizards for Dublin Core, MARCXML, MODS contain now the same
encoding list than when exporting in ISO2709, i.e. the following encoding
were missing: "CP1256 (Arabic Windows-1256)", "MARC-8", "ISO-5426 (Used by
UNIMARC)", "ISO-6937 (Used by UNIMARC)
· Getting subfields codes in the FDT when importing external files
without old FDT
· Exporting with a reformatting FST works now as describe in the
manual
· New line characters are replaced by blanks in the xml declaration
when exporting in MARCXML
· The FST Manager displays the indexed terms for the index FST (with
name "master") while it display the result of each FST entries for FSTs
with names different from "master".
· Bugs fixed in the Dictionary Browser and Database Browser Modules.
An exception was raised in some particular circumstances.
· It was not possible to completely remove a field from a record.
Even if the field was empty the field was always present in the record. An
empty field is now deleted from the record when the record is saved.
*B) J-ISIS Reference Manual*
· More examples and details on how to use J-ISIS features
· New Chapters:
o Output Console Window
o J-ISIS Databases And MARC Records
o The FST Manager
*C) Web-JISIS*
It has been updated to be synchronized with the new changes in J-ISIS 3
March 2014.
As usual, I would be very grateful if you could take the time to try
J-ISIS. All your comments, suggestions, improvement requests and bug
descriptions are welcome.
Best wishes,
Jean-Claude
