release note.

  J-ISIS 23 March 2015 Release Note

This distribution contains two new empty template databases:

* database "authority" is  designed for storing MARC 21 Format for
Authority Data

* database "liteBibliographic"designed for storing  MARC 21 LITE
Bibliographic Data

J-ISIS New Features  an Bug Fixes

-----------------------------------------------

1) New RAW format to replace the ugly previous one. Subfield separators are
displayed in bold.

2)  HTML tag "<br/>" generated by PFT spacing commands are now generated
with a newline "<br/>\n" so that the output data that follows will start on
a new line.

3) Improved HTML generation for ISIS PFT spacing commands

4) PickLists

* Fixed a bug in PickList interpretation where the lowercase "choice"
keyword was the only one recognized, now both lowercase "choice" and
uppercase "CHOICE" keywords are accepted.

* Fixed a bug in PickList choice values recognition under Linux, they are
now recognized under Windows as well as under Linux.

5) Implemented the possibility to enter escaped \% and \^ to allow these
characters in the data itself

6) Fixed a bug in module "Advanced Data Entry" for implicit first field

7) Added a persistent History mechanism for data entry fields and text area
so that data entered in previous sessions can be displayed and recalled

8) Better Highlighting of search terms when displaying search results using
RAW PFT as well as user's defined PFTs.

9) Added polling of changes made by another process to record so that a
message is displayed in that case.

10) Import/Export module

* IMPORT

        ** Added closing of database to commit records after import and
re-opening with parameter commitSync so that the data will be saved to disk
when a transaction is finished.

        ** Added the display of the imported record number.

        ** Fixed a bug when wrong input line length was specified, an
exception was raised and the thread and progress status were not closed.

* EXPORT

* Added display of records to export not found in the database

11) Pft Manager Module - Changed the newline method when quoting lines.
Initially, the newline method was using the PFT command "/".

    This was changed to use a real newline inside the quoted string so that
code generated by the pft has a newline at the end of each generated line

12) Free Text Search Module - Added History

13) FST Manager - Added checking if database record exists to avoid
exception in that case.

14) Global Add/Delete/Replace Module

* Added History on data entry fields

* Added some checking of mandatory data

* Added code to skip record if not found in database

15) Module PrintSort

* Added History on data entry fields

* Changed the hit sort file mechanism as follow:

        A HIT sort file is composed by two files:

        <dbasename>.hitsort

        <dbasename>.hxfsort

         stored in J-ISIS's client default working
directory."....\jisis_suite\work"

* When generating a html file, the html file is converted to pdf format
producing also a pdf file.

* Added Mnemonic for buttons

* Work directory is predefined for selecting output file

J-ISIS Reference Manual

---------------------------------

1) Changed some screen shots to display records using the new RAW format

2) Corrected the syntax description of the CISIS functions instr, left,
mid, replace, right. :

   In J-ISIS, the CISIS function parameters are separated by the semicolon
character ";"

   instead of the comma to allow the automatic generation of the parser.

2) Added two chapters: " J-ISIS History Mechanism" and "Template Databases
authority and liteBibliographic"

3) Improved the PrintSort chapter with better documentation, examples and
tips

4) Revised Annex 3 on Groovy scripts and checked that examples provided are
up to date and can be run.
