[Isis-users] Antediluvian question

Hi,
as far as I know there never has been such a possibility in the (very) old WinISIS. Maybe there is a way to store the incremental MFN in a field to make it persistent in the records, but generally using the MFN (which is a temporary internal identifier for the software) is not advised.

By principle we think it would be time to move on, also for you, to newer versions using the ISIS-technology, like ABCD (which has such option indeed) and J-ISIS. The first has specific library-operation functions like circulation and acquisition, but the second one is also fully based on the ISIS Formatting Language (with additions and extensions) but now in a modern environment : graphical, web-based, XML/HTML, Lucene (full-text)indexing etc.

Subject: [Isis-users] Antediluvian question

Dear colleagues,

I’d like to know if, using CDS/ISIS 1.5 for Windows…, there is a possibility to automatically increment by one unit a numerical DOI field, provided that this field (tag 110) is empty ?

Thank you. Have a nice day.

Philippe
