[Isis-users] CN for copies in ABCD

Guilda,

Thank you for your answer, but strange things keep happening here.
Originally the control number is in v3. When the database is indexed, it shows e.g. CN_1 etc etc. Now, when I try to add copies, it keeps on saying:

This record has no control number. The copies cannot be added.

Now I add a test field v1 to the FDT and enter in this field e.g. 4000. I change the FST to 1 0 “CN_”v1 instead of 1 0 “CN_”v3. Reindex. Now the index contains only one time CN_ , i.e. CN_4000 (because now I have only one record containing something for v1 – as it is a test). Now… I can add copies: the error messages doesn’t show now and the copies contain the number 4000 as “Object id”, which is what you should expect.

Piet

Hi Piet

In the main database the control number may be in any tag, I just tested in the cepal database where the control number is in the tag 2 and it worked. As you wrote, is identified with the prefix CN_ in the fst

Hi all,

I had a database in which the control number was in v3. I could not add any copies untill I changed the CN to v1. In copies_add.php it says:

//READ THE FST OF THE BIBLIOGRAPHIC DATABASE IN ORDER TO GET THE TAG OF THE CONTROL FIELD

If I understand this well, the program is checking in which field it should look for the CN, in my case this would be v3 of the bibliographic database, becaus the FST says 1 0 “CN_”v3,
but in fact this doesn’t matter because the CN should always be in v1? Is this correct?
