[Isis-users] Question about ABCD

Hi,

here are some answers :

- the new version 2.2 is being worked on but with indeed some considerable difficulties and delays due to corona; the new OPAC needs testers as from August.

- This new version is going to be using MySQL?

No, not using a SQL-database (except for EmpWeb, the advanced loans module which stores the rules, the users and the transactions into MySQL or any other SQL-database) is exactly one of the 'unique selling points' of ABCD using a no-SQL database with important advantages for documentary database systems.

- We will have two versions: for windows and Linux?

Yes, as always. Some functions might no longer work in Windows however due to incompatibilities of the software libraries (e.g. libxml) used in Windows.

- Do you need help? If this is correct, what kind of help?? Programming, translation,

We need an expert to check on a problem with the newer Java-versions for EmpWeb, probably with the Jetty server (needs updated) but could also be an issue with MySQL. Contact me for more details.

Translations will be needed for Portuguese and French, while for other languages (in other scripts) specialists will be contacted for the given alphabets (e.g. Amharic, Singala, Sanskrit, Arab).

Thanks for your interest.
