[Isis-users] Problem with diacritics in ABCD 2 .0f

Hi,


Renate's solution of forcing the charset of the ABCD-pages to 'Latin' will work well in the most typical and frequently used ABCD-installations which only use ANSI/Latin-alphabets (almost everywhere west of Eastern-Europe).

If however also UTF8-alphabets are used (as is possible in ABCD 2.x) the solution is not that simple. That is one reason why in v2.x extra utilities were added (in the utilities/extra menu) to convert from ANSI to UTF8 (and v.v.) which is performed on the text-files of the system, like menu's and screen messages but also database-definition files like FDT, PFT, FST. Not on the data within the database-records and fields, of course, as that remains under control of the ISIS-environment, not PHP.

We are actually working on a better solution for ABCD v2.2 which should dynamically adjust better in adapting pages to 'charset'-settings per database and automatically selecting the correct CISIS-executables.


Due to corona-cancellations of activities and hence more difficult collaboration and communication formats there is considerable delay on v2.2 but work is still ongoing.

Eu instalei ABCD 2.0f  para Windows e não consigo resolver o problema de diacríticos  (letras com acento). Observei que no index.php consta <META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">. Em ABCD.def está UNICODE=0. Na tela inicial ABCD: Encoding ansi. Alguém pode ajudar? Ver prints anexo.

I installed ABCD 2.0f for Windows and can't solve the diacritic problem (accented letters). I noticed that in index.php there is <META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">. In ABCD.def: UNICODE=0. On the ABCD home screen: Encoding ansi. Can anyone help? See attached prints.
