Hello Jesus

The passwords have not changed but login is also rejected if the user is 
expired.

You can use the emergency login to correct that.
You find the emergency credentials in htdocs/central/config.php. In the 
end of the file you see:
$adm_login="";                // emergency username for administrator
$adm_password="";             // emergency password for administrator

If you enter credentials here you will be able to login as administrator 
and correct the expiration date for any expired users.
Do not forget to set the emergency credentials to blank after your action.
