las bibliotecas y centros de documentación –ya sea que trabajen o no con ISIS- ,
podrán contar con un sistema de software libre y código abierto (FOSS), que
integrará todas las aplicaciones necesarias para la automatización online de su
trabajo, sin tener que modificar sus bases actuales, en atención a que sólo será
necesario migrarlas a ABCD. <BR>Este sistema multilingüe y configurable (la
pagina de presentación del soft puede llevar su logo y el nombre de su
Biblioteca o Centro de Documentación), se distribuye con bases de datos MARC 21,
CEPAL, y LILACS, pero permite el uso de cualquier formatos de catalogación.
Pertenece a la familia de software ISIS y su desarrollo es una iniciativa de
BIREME con el apoyo del Consorcio de Universidades de Flandes <BR>en Bélgica
(VLIR/USO).<B><SPAN

ABCD! que apunta a proporcionar a la comunidad de Isis-Usuarios un sistema
integrado para las bibliotecas, incluso las universitarias ya que sostiene
requisitos como, por ejemplo, MARC, AGRIS, METS, Z39.50, tesauros,
etc.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
