<div style="direction: ltr;font-family: Tahoma;color: #000000;font-size: 10pt;">Dear colleague,
<div><br>
</div>
<div>It is best to prepare the database offline, using MX. MX will help you to get rid of the locks too:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The command for that is: retag databasename unlock</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>("databasename" should of course be replaced with the name of you database)</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>After that you can defragment and clean the data, using this command</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>mxcp databasename create newdatabasename clean</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Mind you: clean will also deleted preliminary spacing etc.; in case of a MARC structure with indicators it should not be used.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>You can also export and import the data in order to fysically delete all deleted records</div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>mx databasename create=newdatabasename -all now</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>After that you rename the newly created database to the name you want and you reindex:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>mx databasename fullinv now -all</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>After all this you can fysically copy the database onto you ABCD database folder.</div>

<div>Dear Colleagues'<br>
<br>
</div>
i have a winisis database with a maximum 14200 records.i managed to recreate it in abcd (using create from winisis) with no problems including reconfiguring the fdt, fst. pft etc...<br>
<br>
</div>
the problem i am encountering is DATA MIGRATION using the export/import function. exporting the whole database or in batches from winisis there is no problem, importing in abcd it gives an error after 3559 records.
<br>
<br>
</div>
to try to resolve this i did the following (winisis database);<br>
</div>
1. unlock database<br>
</div>
2. unlock records<br>
</div>
no errors encountered.<br>
<br>
</div>
i also noticed that when exporting first 3000 records am getting 2995 records, meaning that the other 5 are logical deleted.<br>
<br>
</div>
how can i clean my 14 000+ winisis database before importing the MFNs or there is another option.<br>
<br>
</div>
good day<br>
