by default the print line is 80 chars length, so if your line is
longer, mx will insert a <cr> every 80 chars<br>
to overide it you should use the parameter lw= (line width)
with any value up to 8000 chars<br>

On ABCD (Linux) I created a display format using the option which
makes provision for the generation of a delimited (|) file for
importing into a spreadsheet, e.g. Excel, OpenOffice, etc.<br>
I then 'printed' records from the database and saved it as a .txt
file. However, when importing this file into for example Excel,
some lines/records are ok, in some cells go over into the next
line. <br>
I then changed the display format to a very basic format, and
generated the file with mx on the command line, but still there
are line breaks in between.<br>
Here is the display format:<br>
