Thanks Ernesto<br>
<br>
So the prefix is the trick.<br>
Tried and it works for my script too.<br>
After some experimenting I found now that the search expression in
ABCD can be copied into a file.<br>
Following example works as a charm:<br>
<blockquote><font color="#3333ff">mx snrbld lw=10000 <b>btell=0
<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:bool=@search.tx">bool=@search.tx</a></b>t now <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:pft=@mytest.pft">pft=@mytest.pft</a></font><br>
where search.txt contains<br>
<font color="#3333ff">(NA_BONTHUIS, J.A.) and (ST_OK)</font><br>
</blockquote>
<br>
Thanks for the tip<br>
regards<br>

<br>
everything depends on how your base is indexed, i.e. the FST
<br>
suppose you have an FST like
<br>
1 0 (|F1_|V1/)
<br>
2 8 '/F2_/', V2
<br>
<br>
then your boolean formulation would be "bool=F1_water * F2_soil"
<br>
this is just an example, I hope you got the idea

<blockquote type="cite">Hello guru's

We are trying to list in a script by mx and a specific pft file.
<br>
This works wonderful.
<br>
Now we would like to make a selection of the processed record by
the value of a specific field.
<br>
In words : process if field 290 has value OK.
<br>
<br>
Command mx has a "bool" parameter, which combined with btell=0,
looks promising.
<br>
The manual gives examples like
<br>
mx cds "bool=water + soil"
<br>
<br>
This example does not specify which filed are searched.
<br>
<br>
How to specifiy that water must be found in field 001 and soil
in field 002
<br>
<br>
