[Isis-users] Inventory No Problem

I entered a inventry no for one book as 1539. Then i tried to enter another
inventory number as 153 to another book. but following message appered.

"Inventory number already exists"

I checked this in online demo also. but same thing happened. so i check what
is happening and then I realized that if we put four digit inventry number
then we can not put first three digit of that inventory number as a
inventory number for new book. i only  checked four digit nuber. What is the
reson for this
