[Isis-users] Installation of Winisis under Window 7

Are you using Windows 7 64- or 32-bits version ? 
You can check this in 'START|COMPUTER|right-click->properties'.

If 64-bits there is a problem (WinISIS still uses some 16-bits parts which cannot be emulated in a 64-bits environment) and you will need to follow the instructions on how to install it in a 'virtual machine'. A manual for that is available.

Dear Bedson

I am glado you solved the problem with your inverted file
According you tell me this problem happens when you cut & paste text into the winisis fileld
this is because the text in the word processor contains some hidden chars and this causes the trouble
The right way to do this is to copy the texto into Notepad (which cleans the text from hidden chars)
and then from Notepad you copy to Winisis

You are right the database was working well until today.However, I have just generated a Full Inversion of  the database.Since then the problem has not yet reoccurred. In fact the error usually happens when ever i want to paste the text in the full text field. Further, after the error appears, the database usually freeze, and closes. Is their anything else i can do apart from the Full Inversion of  the database?

Dear Bedson

You have in your database at least 9831 records according to the figure, therefore I assume this database was workiing for a long time, but you have a problem now,
According to the message (postread/check/xblk) you have a problem with your Inverted File, maybe it is corrupted
So, my first advise is to generate a Full Inversion of your database
