Renate

This is a problem with so many different dialects of Linux, nothing comes for free

I have ABCD and Bireme`s applications running in many different platforms, but not in ALL platforms because of this very problem

I am using Ubuntu 10.x, Centos 5, SUSE, and Windows Server 2003 and 2008 succesfully

But I had a problem with Centos 6 in an institution, so IT department created a VM running Centos 5 and it is working, therefore I think that for the time being, if your institution uses Ubuntu mandatory, then IT department could create a VM with a lower version for ABCD, this is not a problem for them, it is very common to have multiple VMs running in a server.
I have a server of my own, running six different operative systems in VMs, with VMware and Virtual Box of Oracle, this is simple and not expensive

Regards
Ernesto Spinak

I have ABCD on Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit version and there the garbling of text is present.

I also have another server with Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS on 64 bit machine and I do NOT have the problem.

If ABCD is only suppported for Debian, I will have a problem as my institution's policy is to use Ubuntu, which means that I can't use ABCD.
