If you want e.g. to put the MFN, which is by definition a sequential number, into the field 1 as CN, in a database with name 'mydb', you could use the following command :
mx mydb "proc='d1','<1>',mfn(0),'</1>'" copy=mydb now -all
After running this process, which deletes the current values of v1 (the CN) and then replaces it by the MFN, all your MFN's will have the MFN-number in field 1. The MFN's later on can still change (e.g. after compacting your DB) but the values in the field 1 will remain.
Beware : if you already created copies and loanobjects, you will have to recreate them.
There are some interesting new utilities in v1.4 to do this.

Colleagues,
i have a database with 3000+ records, via utilities its timing out if try to resent CN_. i tried doing it in batches and only processing 20 records at a time.
an MX command i can use to reset my 3000+ CN_???
