Yes, they are totally different modules. Now I can ask: Did you solve your problem?

Hi,
Reading a little bit more the manuals, I now realize that I should say Central Loans instead of Empweb. Since I use an ABCD version with loan process integrated, it means I use Central Loans, not Empweb, correct? It may answer your point.

Hi,
coming back to this meanwhile solved issue : it remains a puzzle to me how a setting for the Central Loans (the 'default' for ABCD) can have any impact on the behavior of EmpWeb Loans (the 'advanced' one) since both operate totally independently with their own configuration files. More specifically I don't see how the extraction of the CN in the configuration form of Central Loans, stored in the file bases/marc/loans/en/loans_cn.pft, can have any impact on EmpWeb, but of course I am ready to learn more...
Please don't see this as a criticism, just an effort to clear out things and learn more...

It was item #7 from the link I have mentined before. It's within Loan > Configuration > Source Databases >
7. PFT for extracting the classification number (loans_cn.pft). There was a mistake on the way the key was extracted/created by formatting language.
Thanks for mentioning the manual, it was one of those I've read throughout last couple of weeks.

Good to see it is solved, but can you be a bit more specific : which item #7 did you have to change ?
Please note there is also another manual I drafted specifically for EmpWeb : see http://abcd.netcat.be/file<http://abcd.netcat.be/files>s/documents.html

Solved. Reconfiguration of item #7 of http://abcdwiki.net/ABCofABCDv13t/ch02s06.html#d0e5382.
Now Empweb recognizes that item is already loaned.

Hi Egbert and all,
I mean Empweb is allowing loaning of a single item twice to different users. It should block - or warn - the operator, but instead, performs the loan again. I'm testing Empweb, this is not a production scenario. Item has a unique id/barcode and, after performing a loan to an user, I tried to loan the same item to another user right after, and Empweb allowed. Of course, we know this is not correct.
So I was wondering how to configure Empweb in order to avoid that.

Hi,
I haven't had any such feedback from other EmpWeb users and actually there is no way to create a 'rule' or policy which would allow this. So are you sure the same items have the same barcodes (or other identifiers) ? One title can have several items ('copies' with different barcodes) but one item can only be lent once, of course.
Or do you mean that in one single transaction more than one user is involved ? Then are these users from the ISIS-patrons database or from the SQL-users table ?
More information (screenshots, remote access...) will be necessary to check more in-depth on this.

Hi all,
Empweb is loaning the same item to more than one user. How do we avoid that?
