Dear friends,

In December Library of Congress published update 25 of its MARC21 structure. The main changes are that more than 60 fields now get a subfield 1 - which normally goes together with the earlier published subfield 0:

^0 - Authority record control number or standard number

^1 - Real World Object URI

An example is:

100 1 ^aObama, Michelle,^d1964-$0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2008054754^1http://viaf.org/viaf/81404344

It makes sense in view of the evolution towards linked data, but it also makes the FDT very heavy. In the actual structure of RDA for ABCD we already had 2422 lines; add another 60 or more - and some local fields - and you'll have 2500 lines.
