I am still not sure if I got you correct : so you mean 'auto-reserve' from the OPAC ? If so, that will be a feature of the new OPAC on which currently is being worked and which will be part of the version 2.2 .

I meant an auto loan online, but not that auto lol

It would be for the OPAC results screen, the user enters his ID and makes the loan. auto-loans would require dedicated hardware to scan the IDs of the loaned (or returned) objects. Mostly 'RFID' is used for this purpose, small electronic tags which contain more information than just a magnetic strip, allowing the software to identify the object and mark it as loaned (or returned) in the loans-transaction database. Most implementations use the protocol 'sip2' for such hardware/software interaction.

In ABCD2.1 we added a folder (in htdocs/central) 'sip2' which has the basic scripts and a brief documentation (in Spanish) for RFID-use in ABCD, developed by Mauricio Brito of UCuenca (Ecuador) as a client-server setup, but as far as I know it was never fully used or tested in real situations. A simple 'plug-and-play' solution will never be available since the implementation is fully based on the hardware used, so it is much easier to offer as a feature in 'full packages' of library systems which come with their own hardware and even installation-team.

So, if you need this in ABCD : it is possible but will need a lot of preparation and implementation work.

Does ABCD allow auto loans by OPAC? I know that there is an option that enables reservation, but is it possible to borrow too?
If so, how to configure it?

I am using ABCD version 2.1

¿ABCD permite préstamos para automóviles por parte del OPAC? Sé que hay una opción que permite la reserva en línea, pero ¿es posible pedir prestado también?
