[Isis-users] help worksheet

OK, without knowing it is about MARC21 it could be fields with any meaning and structure... ABCD, unlike most library systems, can deal with any database-structure, not only MARC.

The attached worksheet didn't come through I'm afraid.
I can seen in the that there seems to be some mixing up in your worksheet : see the 'http' (start of a URL) as the 'column value' for the field just before (504) and other such 'http' values in the pre-literals column, where the certainly don't belong.
So we need to check the worksheet file itself as I think it is corrupt.

And yes, we can speak/write Dutch, but then other ISIS/ABCD users cannot follow the discussion, sorry.

Hi,
Sorry, I thought the list people were familiar with MARC21 cataloging and
with libraries.
We use MARC21 for bibliographic descriptions. 505 and 710 are MARC tag
numbers. 505 stands for Formatted Contents Note and 710 is an Added entry
Corporate Name.
I attached the test worksheet and I highlighted the MARC tags that have the
problem. Also screenprints of the mentioned tags. With the links I meant the
+ symbol we click to get the MARC subfields to fill in the worksheet. Since
you are from the Univ. of Antwerp I may use Dutch, I think.
Hope this helps, Winnie

Hi,

can you please be a bit more specific on the problem of creating the
worksheet ? What are fields 505 and 710 ? What do you mean by 'links' (which
are missing along with the tagnumbers) ?
Could you perhaps attach the file itself (yourworksheet.fmt) of that
worksheet (in /abcd/www/bases/yourbase/def/yourlanguage/*.fmt ) or otherwise
'list' that worksheet and print out the page of that list ? Also screenshots
might help to clarify.

Your other problem : there is indeed no option to 'save as' in order to
'copy' a worksheet. That could be an addition later on. For now you can, if
you have access to the server where ABCD is installed, use Windows (or
Linux) file-manager to save the model-worksheet (from where you start) under
another name with .fmt extension, add it with a text-editor to the file
'formatos.wks' in that same folder mentioned above and then open it in ABCD
for editing and updating (=saving) again. This is not very practical, but we
thought the procedure to create a new worksheet is easy enough to make 'save
as' not a priority.

Subject: [Isis-users] help worksheet

Hi abcd experts and users,

I am trying to make a new worksheet from scratch and I encounter some
difficulties.
After <Update database definitions – Worksheet> I use the blue arrows to
indicate the fields I want in my new worksheet. I don’t like the Headers so
I leave them all out. After saving and trying out the worksheet in our
database, I notice that tagnumber 505+ and 710+ are missing. I do see
<Formatted Contents note> and <Corporate name> but without the tagnumbers
and links. After 500+ I also get indicator 1 and indicator 2. Very strange.

I tried then to use an existing worksheet that was working well. But after
finishing my only choice is to <Update> the existing. I do not have the
option to Save my worksheet under a different name and leave the other
intact, without changes. Let’s say a <Save as> option.
Who can help me out please, thanks in advance,
