If you want the total occs of a given field over the whole database you 
have another cisis command *mxf0.exe*
mxf0 has a number of parameters, look the CISIS manual please

but for your problem you have:    mxf0  mibase  create=xb

then to look what you need display xb summary with

*mx xb "proc='d1030' "*   and it will display somenthing like the 
following table

*1020 «^t001^d        7^o        7^l    1^u    9^n        29»
1020  «^t012^d       12^o       12^l   46^u  191^n      1485»
1020  «^t024^d      135^o      135^l    6^u  179^n      8870»
1020  «^t026^d      134^o      136^l    6^u  101^n      2635»
1020  «^t030^d      133^o      133^l    6^u   36^n      2274»
1020  «^t044^d       74^o       74^l   22^u  112^n      6956»
1020  «^t050^d       91^o       91^l   11^u  209^n      1955»
1020  «^t069^d      134^o     1011^l 3^u   66^n     15268»
1020  «^t070^d      110^o      141^l    8^u   35^n      2131»
1020  «^t071^d       36^o       50^l    3^u   97^n      1987»*

The red line means
^t   tag 069
^d   134 records containing tag 069
^o   1011   there are 1011 occs of the tag in the database
etc
