ABCD only offers a 'sort key' input box in the reports-generator. That is possibly not advanced enough for the purposes you envisage. ABCD being mostly a library system the idea is that is what librarians would need mostly.

Possibly the only solution for your goal is to use J-ISIS (which however requires export/import via the ISO-2709 format), which more than ABCD tries to reflect the capabilities of the old WinISIS. J-ISIS is not a library system but indeed an even more general manager for ISIS-databases which include such more scientifically oriented purposes like production of (printed) indexes.

I used to produce sorted output in ABCD, but never I tried to produce an index.

I could not find in ABCD the CDS/ISIS equivalence for “sort key length” and “sort techniques” “headings format”,  where I can indicate the characteristics of the index.

In fact, I would like to produce an author index where author name will appear in aplanatic order follow by the mfn of records of documents they produced.

Is there possible to proceed in ABCD as the CDS/ISIS Standard version does ?
