Dear colleague,

You could do this the easy way. Just use MX:

(1) export the Excell file to a cvs file and remove the headings with the name of the fields (using an editor)
(2) import the cvs file into an isis file, e.g.

mx seq=base.cvs; create= test now -all

(3) retag the new database test, using the retag table retag.tab, which contains this:

1 16
2 18
3 38
4 39

This is the command: retag test retag.tab.

Now you can import the data into whatever database you want.

That's all. Learn MX; it is a great help for a job like this.

 Bueno, buenas tardes

--------------------------------

I'll write this in english to make sure to get lucky in my first question. At one time I knew a couple of times to convert a list in Excel to iso format, CDS / ISIS.
The path I followed was as described below
 1) To identify the columns in Excel and width of these columns
2) Then, I recorded the Excel file in *. Dbf, for example base.dbf
3) Then, I converted the file to base.iso base.dbf the program DB3.iso
4) Then I did a reformat file called format.fst the following structure

V16 0 1
  v18 0 2
  V38 0 3
  V39 0 4

But I do not remember whether to import from the program Microisis actually had to be dispuest it this way
1 0 v16
2 0 v18
3 0 v38
4 0 v39

And finally I do not know which folder has to go this file reformatting, if c: \ isis \ data \ base \
or any entity that is part of the Microisis installation, because the program gives me an error message, and then the program automatically closes

I made the file in Notepad saving quotes for not generate a text file but a file reformatting.

5) Then I made an empty database called "base" on Cepal format
 6) Then, I imported the file into the database created. This way I could use the work done by people who worked hard and for a long time, perhaps without RCAA documentation standards, but this thing saved a lot of work and was able to mount a service

My doubt is in step 4)

Well, good afternoon
